Our New Homebase in Germany

We have finally started a new blog from our home in Kandern, Germany, where we continue to serve with Church Resource Ministries (www.crmleaders.org).  It is a blessing to live here in the southern Black Forest region, near the Swiss and French borders, working with the Freie evangelische Gemeinde (Free Evangelical denomination of Germany).  We are once again at a meeting point of 3 European countries, similar to our 7 years at the borders of Hungary, Serbia, and Romania.  We love crossing borders and discovering what God is doing in different cultures!

We rent 1/2 of an older home with a terrace. We love having green all around us.

Downtown Kandern has the Kandern Stream flowing through it.

And there are lots of hiking trails and signs to follow in the Kandern Valley!

Sarah and Hannah are now attending the Black Forest Academy - and enjoying it! - and we are all continue to work on our German language skills.  Rob has the greatest advantage as he studied Deutsch back in college and spent a 1991 semester here in Freiburg, about 40 minutes from Kandern.  We are also thankful to be closer to our Bavarian cousins who are in the next State over from us to the East.

Our new home church, Freie evangelische Gemeinde Kandern (http://www.feg-kandern.de/) is celebrating 25 years in May.  We are partnering with Pastor Markus and the leadership to expand their vision and desire to see the church grow further, perhaps even planting another church as well.  Rob travels with Markus to various pastors' and leaders' conferences in the region.  We are very thankful for the opportunity to serve here and learn how God wants to build partnership.
